33 years of electronics manufacturing

9.30 – 10.00 a.m.

Dr. Frank-Peter Schiefelbein, Siemens CT Berlin

Undeniably, the electronics industry is one of the most rapidly changing industries of the past decades. The speed with which innovations and further developments establish themselves on the market - and disappear again just as quickly - is at once inspiring and terrifying. What was unthinkable 30 years ago is standard today and may be obsolete tomorrow. The challenge for the industry is to maintain the existing without ignoring the trends of tomorrow.

Innovative solutions for sustainable electronics manufacturing

10.00 - 10.30 a.m.

Dr. Paul Wild, Rehm Thermal Systems

Is there such a thing as sustainable electronics or electronics manufacturing? There are many different opinions on this. But they all agree on one thing: the goal is a sustainable use of resources and electronics in general. In this presentation, you will learn which innovative approaches can be used to significantly reduce the consumption of resources in the soldering and coating of electronic assemblies.

Power Modules - Current trends and future challenges

10.30 - 11.00 a.m.

Prof. Dr. Aylin Bicakci, Fachhochschule Kiel

Power electronic modules are an important part of today's industry. Due to the steadily increasing power density, new module designs with reduced thermal resistance are of great importance in addition to the continuous further development of commercial solutions. Especially organic insulated modules on leadframe basis offer great thermal advantages to manage the steadily increasing power density.

On the way to CO2-neutral production

11.30 – 12.00 a.m.

Raphael Germann, Rehm Thermal Systems

The topic of sustainability, energy efficiency, resource conservation is increasingly being discussed and is accordingly a major concern for Rehm Thermal Systems. This is reflected in the introduction of an environmental management system (in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001:2015) and the associated Rehm Climate Strategy 2030. It forms the basis for an even more conscious handling of energy, resources and the continuous improvement of energy efficiency in the company.

Sustainability

12.00 - 13.00 p.m.

Prof. Dr. Christian Berg, Deutsche Gesellschaft Club of Rome e.V.

In view of the many crises, the topic of sustainability is in danger of being pushed into the background. The lecture first gives an overview of the topic of sustainability, what it entails, why it is so urgent, and then asks what this means for companies. For companies, sustainability is not only a responsibility, but also an opportunity. Because properly understood, the challenges can inspire a wide range of innovations.
